MAY 2007- ARCHIVES

This month a full year will have been completed since MSN decided to shut down all classic card and board games. Whether anything will ever get back to a somewhat "normal" stage is anyone's guess. We are still playing various and different games on several different web sites and I am sure that will continue as the jury is still out on all the sites. Tigers will continue to use GamingPeak as their home base. Shutter has been heloful to our club and has met our needs. Many of the principals at other sites are left over from the Zone. They did nothing for us there and I chose not to deal with them now.

May found 135 banners posted. tiger_gram won top Spades honors with 36 banners. TigerBlossom_DA earned runner up's honors with 11 banners posted. TigerEagleScout captured the Gin Player of the Month award with 24 banners. Tiger_PondLady was nipping at his tail with 22 of her own banners for the second place award.

There were 62 Spades and 62 Gin banners posted. 11 banners were posted as follows in other games: BackGammon, 1, Cribbage, 6, Euchre, 1, Hearts, 1 and Poker, 2. No awards were issued for the month except in Spades and Gin due to the lack of category competition.

Other items of interest in May:

TigerLilllyDA hosted a wonderful tourney Saturday, May 19th, honoring the lives and memories of Tiger_Maggie_DA, Tiger_Rebel1 and Tiger_Tweety_6. Over 90 people turned out to express their condolences and enjoy an evening with the Tigers.

Dolphin Cove is now Global Gamers. I understand there are new owners of the site. There is a new look but still too early to say what is going to happen there. I do know the long range plans for many of these sites include "pay to play".

Tigers and friends celebrated Mother's Day on May 13th. May 21st was Victoria Day in Canada and the US celebration of Memorial Day was held on May 28th.
